Born from both grief and deep purpose, the Harmonie Grace Foundation honors the legacy of baby Harmonie Grace, a resilient micro-preemie, by providing unwavering support to families navigating neonatal intensive care journeys.
Our Story
Adriauna and Shahid’s routine prenatal care visits were progressing very well until Adriauna’s obstetrician discovered that Adriauna’s cervix had shortened. Adriauna was placed on bed rest after having a surgical procedure done to reduce early labor.
Adriauna did everything she could until she went to the doctor’s office and while there, her water broke at 22 weeks and 4 days. She remained in the hospital until it was time to deliver. The neonatologist and obstetrician suggested that Adriauna deliver soon because baby’s heart kept declining.
Born at 23 weeks and 1 day, Adriauna and Shahid welcomed their first baby girl, Harmonie Grace, on June 23, 2018. Weighing 15 ounces at birth, the medical team didn’t expect Harmonie Grace to survive. Harmonie was the smallest micro preemie in the Women and Children’s Hospital prior to being transferred to a higher level of care.
Harmonie Grace fought as long as she could before she succumbed to her illness on January 30, 2019. Every day was different for Harmonie, whether good or bad, however, Adriauna and Shahid were grateful for every moment. The journey wasn’t easy! It took a lot of prayer to get through the NICU.

Spread Awareness - Micro-prematurity and prematurity will continue to increase. Please educate yourself so that we can decrease number of pre-term babies, infant mortality.

Volunteer - Volunteer with The Harmonie Grace Foundation to make a meaningful impact, fostering a sense of community and support for families navigating the challenges of premature births and infant loss.
